Look in the sky, is it a bird, is it a plane, oh fuck it's Superman.

Somthing suprised me this week, I realy enjoyed the Burns supper which I attended on Thursaday. The reason i attended was because a friend was doing the Imortal Memory, a toast to Robbie Burns, and I knew his speach would be absolutly fantastic and i wasnt proved wrong it was funnier than any expectations a I had. Well the rest of the night was also brilliant the toasts to the lassies and the reply were slightly in-jokey but still funny and a performance of Tam O'Shanter was worth watching. Also the food wasnt bad.

"My name is Flinaly and ia am a waasted person...
Alasdfair is xso bloody drunk its not dunny
Burns was good asnd soe wwas youre ma

Towser and some help fromn aldug"

The above message was written by a friend of mine aldug as you can see we were both pretty drunk.

What So No Revolution Then?

I have recently received unconditional offers of acceptance from a number of universities. Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen have all replied with unconditional offers and I am over the moon about this but this leaves me in a very strange situation; I have lost all motivation for my 6th year courses. Well that is not strictly true I still enjoy economics and media studies but AH Maths with Stats and Computing have gone out the window. With prelims coming up in a weeks time this is not ideal but to hell with it I’m going to uni.

I seem to be listening to a lot of music and podcasts at the minute and watching much less TV. Well this is to be expected as television is going down hill with god knows how many reality and self help programs (DIY, Property, Fitness). I know only watch the TV for specific shows no longer do I channel flick unless I am babysitting. My current music taste seems to be heading toward indy music and I just love podcasts.

Towser’s Choice (To be updated on the last Friday of every month)

Music
• Dice – Finley Quaye
• Such Great Heights – Postal Service (recommended by a friend and I can’t stop listening)
• New Slang – The Shins (watched Garden State and I was hooked on this song)

TV
• Desperate Housewives
• ER
• Smallville

Movies
• Jarhead (Tries to be more than it is but is certainly worth a look)
• Garden State (BUY IT ON DVD such a great film)
• Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Minds

Podcasts
• Ricky Gervais (This is truly hilarious)
• Mark Kermode’s Film Review

This week saw a theory of mine disproved, to my complete bewilderment the common room was not sent into some form of revolution against the school after a remix of the Tetris Music was played. Surely something as catch and clearly Russian would be haled with cries of rebellion such as ‘down with our oppressors’. Sadly not mind you it was a techno remix perhaps an unedited version would be more effective.

Third Times A Charm

Well here we are again, I once again dawn the mask of Towser and create another blog. I have had two blogs previously one on opendiary.com and another on xanga.com.

My opendiary.com blog started off as a joke, a blog that mimicked all other blogs. I started with posts such as "This song means so much to me - The Mickey Mouse Club Song". I then started to take it a tad more seriously and didn't slag off the blogs; I instead started to post slightly surreal entries that had nothing to do with my life. For example entire sections of the Godfather script or weird one-liners. I got strangely addicted to this and posted every day sometimes more. It all ended when I realised I had gone to far and had posted on Christmas Eve that was enough of a dose of reality to stop me. This was a couple of years ago now and so it has been deleted from opendiary.com.

My other blog on xanga.com was a more short-lived blog only a few posts and then I was out. The problem here was I actually tried to do it seriously and about my life. Nothing ever came to me and so it fell by the way side.

Towser is being resurrected however, I still have not decided what to write about though expect a number of topics from films to rants about life and from comics to the outright bizarre. I will post whenever I feel like it but Friday night will probably be my big weekly post. God knows who I am writing to it is not as if any one will read this damn thing.
